About Air Jordan 5
The Air Jordan 5 debuted in 1990 as Michael Jordan’s signature basketball shoe. Designer Tinker Hatfield drew on Jordan’s attacking style on the court and the look of a World War II fighter plane to create its distinctive midsole graphics.
The shoe pairs side-panel netting with lace locks and a sculpted midsole featuring shark-tooth shapes. A visible Air-Sole unit sits in the heel, while a translucent rubber outsole finishes the design. Reflective tongues appear on versions of the model, alongside uppers in materials including leather, suede and nubuck.
Sunset combines white leather with orange accents and a crimson outsole. Boro - Racer Blue uses black tumbled leather, white stitching and blue embroidery, with an Awake NY logo cut into the side netting. Grape brings together white, purple and emerald.
